About the project:
The Atrium fused a custom haptic installation with a VR story, based on the lore of Meow Wolf's "The House of Eternal Return".
Audiences entered the bedroom of Morgan --daughter of the Selig family, an empath trying to discover her place within the chaos of the multiverse, and the mystery that surrounded the family.
Viewers flew around in the vastness of a little girls bedroom and embodied the families experimental pet. At a mere three inches, the room felt massive and imposing. Just moments after finally meeting Morgan face to face, an event happens which sucks her out of the room, through a portal and into the vastness of the multiverse. Another clue for audiences to seek as they explored HOER.
Design, fabrication, and construction of the platforms was led by designer Leo Brown, with support and safety netting handmade by Olivia Brown. The design was modular, and allowed our small team to disassemble and rebuild within one day (three of them) totaling over 7000lbs. The first virtual ride of it's kind to make it's way to a festival. It garnered the attention of SXSW and the project led to an SXSW Arrow Award Win for Meow Wolf in excellence in branded experience.
